Purpose: to evaluate and present the techniques of combined one-stage phaco and vitreoretinal surgery using foldable intraocular lens and a partial sutureless approach.
Methods: a detail description of the techniques and a review of results of the recent 50 consecutive cases that included both with and without gas-fluid exchange
Results: good results were obtained and there were no significant intra- or perioperative complications encountered.
Conclusions: combined one-stage phaco and vitreoretinal surgery using foldable intraocular lens and a partial sutureless approach is both safe and effective and recommended for use in appropriate cases.
