One end of the double-armed suture is placed through the muscle, starting in the middle of the muscle at the point marked for the amount of resection to be done and passing through the edge, or margin, of the muscle. The suture is passed back through the muscle, perpendicular to the plane of the muscle, 1.5 to 2 mm in from the margin. A double lock is thrown to secure the suture to the tendon (resection).
