In this representative case (surgical procedure of CLAU is shown in Fig. 5), the left eye with unilateral acid burn manifested total limbal stem cell deficiency (LSCD) with visual acuity of 20/200, persistent corneal epithelial defect, conjunctivalization, and vascularization for 7 months (A). After CLAU from the right eye, rapid epithelialization started from superior and inferior grafts in 1 week (B) and completed in 2 weeks (C). The corneal surface was stable and improved 6 weeks after CLAU (D). The midstromal vascularization that was left 1 month after CLAU (E) became regressed 6 months later (F), resulting in visual acuity of 20/30 with a stable and smooth surface and a clearer stroma in 2 years (G). The donor eye healed well without complication at the limbal region (H).
