Using a BVIOO-4 Ethicon needle, two prolene sutures are placed through the midperipheral iris, one at approximately 3 o'clock and one at 9 o'clock. Each suture also passes through one hole in the optic of the intraocular lens with the knots being tied between the iris and the anterior surface of the optic. The haptics of the lens are positioned at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock within the ciliary sulcus.
