It gives me great pleasure to extend a warm welcome to participants from around the world to the Beijing International Glaucoma Conference in 2004, organized by Chinese Ophthalmological Society, World Eye Surgeons and Chinese Medical Association in Beijing, China, April 8-11, 2004.
The Scientific Committee will draw up an intensive and stimulating scientific program and provide participants an exciting forum to exchange the latest experiences and knowledge in Glaucoma on a global scale. The Conference will also be a wonderful opportunity for ophthalmologist from all over the world to make new friends and renew old acquaintances.
It is well known that China is the most populous country with very long history in the world and its culture goes back to thousands of years. Beijing, as the capital of China, has many historical and cultural sightseeing sites, such as the Great Wall, Forbidden City, Summer Palace.
Meanwhile, many exciting social activities will be lined up for you. You can also take some time to enjoy the shopping and the local cuisine, which reflects many of the regional tastes and beyond. After the Conference, you can take part in our attractive tours or extend your trip to many fantastic spots in other tourist cities in China,.

Visa Invitation: An official letter for visa application will be sent upon request.
Certificate of Attendance: A Certificate of Attendance will be provided for all registered delegates.
Liability: The BIGC2004 and the organizer will not assume any responsibility for accidents, losses, damages, cancellations or delays for any cause beyond its reasonable control.
Accommodations: There are hotels in Beijing ranging from deluxe to economy. Special room rates for this Conference has been negotiated and reserved exclusively for those participants reserved though the Secretariat.
Exhibition: A large Exhibition will be held concurrently at the Conference venue. Interested enterprises are welcome to display their products and technologies.
Tours: Pre- and post-conference tours will be arranged to offer delegates a unique chance to enjoy the oriental scenery, culture, and ancient civilization in China.

All accepted abstracts will be published in the Abstract Book of the BIGC 2004 Conference.

(3) The significance and technique for glaucoma screening.
(4) Early diagnosis of glaucomas.
(5) Diagnosis and management of acute primary angle closure glaucoma.
(6) New concepts of medical treatment for glaucoma.
(7) Advances of laser treatment for glaucoma.
(8) Advances of filtering surgery for glaucoma.
